IKON Gallery / Creative Partnerships 2005 / Young Curators project

Young Curators:
Capsule delivered an innovative training scheme with Ikon and Creative partnerships, working with pupils from 5 schools in Birmingham to develop their skills as curators and produce 2 exhibitions within the Ikon gallery's events room. Over the seven month period, the pupils were given the opportunity to work alongside experienced gallery staff and Capsule, to curate exhibitions (of work produced by their peers), and learn about aspects of exhibition marketing and interpretation.


The schools were: Four Dwellings High School / George Dixon International School and Sixth Form Centre, Birmingham / Handsworth Wood Girls School, Birmingham / Holte Secondary School, Birmingham / Mayfield Special School, Birmingham
